<br /><br />If Independence Day was the birth of modern India, it is Republic Day that gave this birth a purpose, direction, and a soul. After the end of World War II, many countries attained independence, and democracy as a form of governance found its roots across the world. It very soon became the most legitimate and popular form of governance. However, the real challenge of building the nation was post-independence. <br /><br />Across the world, independence was achieved at a high cost, after decades of struggle with the colonisers and with sacrifice by thousands of people. In India too, it was a hard-earned gift and valued by millions of citizens. People who led the independence movement saw these sacrifices as a part of their selfless service to the nation and its people. The movement nurtured a different breed of leaders, for whom nation building was the sole purpose of their life. <br /><br />Millennials are born in a different age- for the most middle-class population that was born post-90s, freedom is a given fact and thus often taken for granted. It is a harsh truth that the current generation of Indians doesn't understand the gift of independence, and responsibility that comes with it.<br /><br />It will be wrong if we only blame the millennials. Inspiration comes from role models in public leadership. Role models in 50s and 60s were leaders of independence, people who lived for the country and were willing to die for it. In the last three decades, there has been a severe dearth of role models in public life. For people like us who are born in mid-eighties, there was no one to look up to in our teenage except Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who valued dialogue, brought respect in politics. As a teenager, I was touched by his personality only to understand his politics as I grew.<br /><br />Freedom fighters have played a big a role in educating masses. Mahatma Gandhi and Rabindranath Tagore used to write scathing articles criticizing each other's ideology, but had deep respect for each other. It was Gandhi who made sure that his favourite Andrews was there to take care of Tagore when he was not well and raised money for Shantineketan. The titles of Mahatma and Gurudev were given to the great men by each other. Last known respectful debates by political leaders were between Jawahar Lal Nehru and Jai Prakash Narayan about the flaws of democracy. These leaders knew that millions were reading their articles; these debates not only educated the masses but also kept the spirit of true engagement with national issues alive.<br /><br />India has failed to inspire its current generation. In the last three decades, we haven't seen much of such written debates in the newspaper or respectful debates in parliament.India Against Corruption was a moment of awakening for many, but it's energy fizzled out. India lacks role models in public life who selflessly serve the nation. In a parliamentary democracy with a multi-party system, it is a shame that the nation starves for alternatives and doesn't have leaders to look up to.<br /><br />Every generation has its own challenges and has to fight its own battles. As a higher percentage of our population is moving towards the upper middle class, and with basics taken care of, many of our young people are in pursuit of meaning in life and are choosing careers in the social sector. It is time that a significantly higher percentage join active politics- in any political party because we need good people everywhere. <br /><br />India needs to end this leadership crisis in public space. The republic will be strengthened only if many more youth join active politics and lead the country through moral courage and imagination. Preserving the republic can be the highest tribute to makers of India and its constitution.<br /></div>

<div align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<o:p> </o:p><span style="font-size: 12pt; text-align: justify;">Gandhi was one of the most prolific thinkers of the 20th century. His ideas of struggle against imperialism were way more progressive than where he was then. He embodied the idea of non-violent revolution through civil disobedience during a time in history when the world saw the two biggest wars and a major era of his political and social work was marred by extreme violence across the world. Yet, his own nation has forgotten his ideas and while we argue and talk about capitalism, socialism, communism and quote the theories and its philosophers, we completely miss the ideas spoken by Gandhi and lived by him.</span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<o:p><br /></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<o:p><br /></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
As we look around the world and especially in India where he is called, " The Father of the Nation", we don't find a formidable group that stands strongly and advocates the ideas of Gandhi. On a much deeper analysis of why this is happening, it is quite simple to find reliable conclusions. First, Gandhi wasn't just an activist, his philosophy started with living his ideas and herein lies the challenge-<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>living a life of simplicity, transparency, non-violence, non-accumulation, truth and loving your fiercest enemy is the most difficult thing possible. Gandhi’s ideas are those of personal transformation and internalizing the change we wish to see in the world, none of his ideas are of externalizing change. On the other hand, we study ideologies that are equally formidable, but they most commonly are about demanding activism and even promoting violence. The onus of self-control and personal transformation isn’t the first thing asked and being the change often isn’t the foundation.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Second, which comes as a by-product of the first one, is that the ideas of Gandhi are that of internalizing, so people who are truly living them are mostly away in their own way, shaking the world gently. They won’t come to defend Gandhi because they have a deeper belief in the strength of his ideas and the change it has brought in their own lives. If we look across society, we find groups of people who vociferously advocate for Ambedkar or Bhagat Singh or even Savarkar. They will be seen on TV debates, on roads, and in rallies but we won't find a formidable group advocating Gandhi’s ideas. In Hind Swaraj, a book on his idea of India, he has written that the people weren’t ready for the sort of internal change he was propagating back then and in the 21st century, with the rise of capitalism and consumerism his ideas seem to have been lost to a large population.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Third, Gandhi was for everyone, not specific to a class, caste or religion. He spoke for humanity, his work might have focused on the upliftment of a particular marginalized community but he saw them as humans first. He even loved his oppressors and never termed the Britishers as the enemy and cared for them as well. Most other political figures spoke about a particular class, caste or a religion at large and thus, to date, have a strong following, with people standing for them and fighting for them.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Gandhi though was for everyone. It seems that none remained his in the truest sense. He has used a symbol for personal gain but not for the emancipation of humanity.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
The most striking feature is regarding the perception that people, especially the youth have, about Gandhi which is often formed from cherry-picking insights from the popular debates surrounding him. Few have read his ideas in “Hind Swaraj” or his autobiography, “My Experiments with Truth” and rarely have they tried to live them in their life except a few who have been able to do so. Over the course of past 10 years I have met numerous people who have been inspired by his ideas and the ones who truly believe in him, see him as a human with flaws like any of us but with an indomitable spirit to experiment, fail, learn, grow, love and be the change. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="_gjdgxs"></a>Today, in this divided and polarized world, we need more people to imbibe his principles of truth, non-violence, peace, selfless service and love for humanity, more people who connect hearts, more people who see humans as humans. We need to learn his ability to respectfully dialogue with people of opposite opinions. He is more relevant than ever and all we need is to give his ideas the importance they deserve. He wasn’t God, he was one of us who did what he could in his lifetime and now it is up to us to take forward his ideas through practice. This complex world doesn’t need one Gandhi but many more. His ideas aren’t that of instant gratification but of lasting courage. True peace can be established through ideas of non-violence and civil disobedience but that shall happen only when there is a critical mass who believes in it and follows it. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Gandhi was a simple man like us, he became extraordinary because he lived the ideas he spoke about. He became the change, he wished to see in the world.</div>

<br />
Respected Prime Minister Mr. Modi,</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br />
Indians have loved you beyond measure and gave you an overwhelming mandate in 2014 election and I believe that you might be our PM in 2019 as well. People of India, youth of India looks upto you as a role model and icon.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br />
You are one of the few politician who is tech savvy and connects with people so well. I want to bring to your notice that 33.9 million (3.39 Crore) people follow you on just one social media site i.e. Twitter and around 44 Million (4.3 Crore) are your fan on Facebook and that makes you one of the most followed politician in India. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br />
I recently noticed that you follow a mere 1779 people on twitter and out of the selected few there are few who are a disgrace to society and more than that to your name. They abuse people, disrespect women, give threats of rape and murder. I know they are people with bad childhood, parenting and don't know what they are doing. But Mr. Prime Minister they are putting your name in bad light because I believe you will never endorse such behaviour.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

<div style="text-align: left;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
<br />
Therefore I request you to please unfollow such trolls from your twitter account. <span style="font-family: inherit;">It is not a reflection of Narendra Modi who is endorsing such language in a subtle way, the issue is much deeper. NaMo is just a symptom and it is going to last, if not him then someone else.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div class="m_-3686608053547816530gmail-" style="background-color: white; color: #1d2129; font-family: 'SF Optimized', system-ui, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, '.SFNSText-Regular', sans-serif; font-size: 14px; letter-spacing: -0.11999999731779099px; white-space: pre-wrap;">
<div class="m_-3686608053547816530gmail-_1mf m_-3686608053547816530gmail-_1mj" style="direction: ltr; font-family: inherit;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">The primary reason is the callous and selfish society that we are as a nation. National Interest comes last on our list of priorities, we have ignored the issues plaguing around us for far too long and it has created a vacuum of leadership in our country.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div class="m_-3686608053547816530gmail-" style="background-color: white; color: #1d2129; font-family: 'SF Optimized', system-ui, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, '.SFNSText-Regular', sans-serif; font-size: 14px; letter-spacing: -0.11999999731779099px; white-space: pre-wrap;">

<span style="font-family: inherit;">During Independence movement we had exceptional leaders who took the plunge to selflessly build the nation, they gave a promising direction to the country. Nation building became the task of few post then and eventually people with deep selfish interest rose to fill the vacuum.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div class="m_-3686608053547816530gmail-" style="background-color: white; color: #1d2129; font-family: 'SF Optimized', system-ui, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, '.SFNSText-Regular', sans-serif; font-size: 14px; letter-spacing: -0.11999999731779099px; white-space: pre-wrap;">

<span style="font-family: inherit;">Now what we see is a result of two generations of ignorance, it will continue unless a critical mass of people don't come forward to build the nation and make it their top priority. </span><span style="font-family: inherit;">It is like in every other space the quality of product is mediocre in our country unless someone brings the exceptional product and we know there are few exceptional products.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div class="m_-3686608053547816530gmail-" style="background-color: white; color: #1d2129; font-family: 'SF Optimized', system-ui, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, '.SFNSText-Regular', sans-serif; font-size: 14px; letter-spacing: -0.11999999731779099px; white-space: pre-wrap;">

<span style="font-family: inherit;">We like it or not NaMo and such tribe are going to stay unless a generation takes it as a role to shift this. He is what we deserve and he is the best we deserve at this point of time. </span><span style="font-family: inherit;">I am hopeful to witness the signs of shift in my lifetime.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div class="m_-3686608053547816530gmail-" style="background-color: white; color: #1d2129; font-family: 'SF Optimized', system-ui, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, '.SFNSText-Regular', sans-serif; font-size: 14px; letter-spacing: -0.11999999731779099px; white-space: pre-wrap;">

<span style="font-family: inherit;">PS. Its a difficult choice to rise and do something that doesn't have immediate result. There will 'n' reasons why you cant make this choice but there is only one reason to do and that's going to be YOUR personal calling. So, these choices are not for all to make, not everyone is cut out to be exceptional but we all have the sanity to recognise, look for and support such individuals.</span></div>

<div style="font-family: 'SF Optimized', system-ui, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, '.SFNSText-Regular', sans-serif; font-size: 14px; letter-spacing: -0.11999999731779099px; margin-bottom: 6px;">
<span style="color: #1d2129;">It was a political surrender by government. - </span>High Court</div>
<div style="color: #1d2129; font-family: 'SF Optimized', system-ui, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, '.SFNSText-Regular', sans-serif; font-size: 14px; letter-spacing: -0.11999999731779099px; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
It's rare that the court directly blames the sitting government for inciting violence. We as citizens need to understand the choices that we have made and the beauty of democracy is that we can correct our choices within a time frame. Our government hasn't been able to handle masses reaction in the best possible ways. They have failed from JNU to Kashmir to Jat agitation to now Ram Rahim. </div>
<div class="text_exposed_show" style="color: #1d2129; display: inline; font-family: 'SF Optimized', system-ui, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, '.SFNSText-Regular', sans-serif; font-size: 14px; letter-spacing: -0.11999999731779099px;">
<div style="font-family: inherit; margin-bottom: 6px;">
Their choice of action has differed from case to case basis, in some cases entire state machinery was used to crush the dissent. Labels of nationalist and anti-nationalist were pasted on every tongue that moved. We all know the brutality to propaganda that was done to create an atmosphere of support terming both JNU and Kashmir agitation as anti-national.</div>
<div style="font-family: inherit; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
<b>Story from past</b></div>
<div style="font-family: inherit; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
Years back there was a PM named as Atal ji, who asked the CM of a state to resign and take responsibility of mass carnage that happened but alas the parent organization did not allow it to happen because the vote bank would be hampered. Years later that man became Hindu Hridaya Samrat and eventually Prime Minister of one of the greatest gullible democracy on earth.</div>
<div style="font-family: inherit; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
The problem often in these cases is not whether NM will go out and slaughter people. The challenge is that when they supported such things in past, they created supporters of similar thought process. Now, even if you have tried to undo your image and become holier than thou, you have made an individual choice. People like you because of what they saw in you and became your supporter. Now you have transformed your imagine without publicly accepting that, "I believed in killing people, now I have changed, atleast on the face of it."</div>
<div style="font-family: inherit; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
The acceptance of crime done irrespective of the fact that it's consciously or unconsciously done becomes the first step to truly change yourself. And in this case that's completely missing. Now, your supporters will do what they revered in you and you will never be able to stop them, unless you accept your sins, go through the punishment and truly cleanse yourself and make a new base. There are examples in history where in people have accepted their faults and went on to become great leaders.</div>
<div style="font-family: inherit; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
These things were meant to happen in a political system of our country where politician do anything to make sure they win. NM is just an example of one type of politics. Congress will remain a dysfunctional party until they accept they are family run party, then give that up, get new leadership and find new direction. Mostly all parties have a core DNA and they follow it, if they really want to change them, they need to accept their flaws, face the consequence and start fresh.</div>
<div style="font-family: inherit; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
India is what it deserves and India will be what its people deserve!</div>

<div style="color: #1d2129; font-family: 'SF Optimized', system-ui, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, '.SFNSText-Regular', sans-serif; font-size: 14px; letter-spacing: -0.11999999731779099px; margin-bottom: 6px;">
Dear <a class="profileLink" data-hovercard-prefer-more-content-show="1" data-hovercard="/ajax/hovercard/page.php?id=177526890164&extragetparams=%7B%22fref%22%3A%22mentions%22%7D" href="https://www.facebook.com/narendramodi/?fref=mentions" style="color: #365899; cursor: pointer; font-family: inherit; text-decoration: none;">Narendra Modi</a> (PM) ji,</div>
<div style="color: #1d2129; font-family: 'SF Optimized', system-ui, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, '.SFNSText-Regular', sans-serif; font-size: 14px; letter-spacing: -0.11999999731779099px; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
Hope you are good! I have stopped writing about anything that happens in our country because everything is justified nowadays. But reading the news of Gorakhpur and listening to the parents, brings mix emotions in me, from pain to sadness to anger. We need to set right priorities as a country, as a government and stop this propaganda based development. Focus on health and education, if you wish to improve lives of people, the return might not be immediate and it might happen that next government sees the benefit but we don't have a choice, someone needs to be honest. </div>
<div style="color: #1d2129; font-family: 'SF Optimized', system-ui, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, '.SFNSText-Regular', sans-serif; font-size: 14px; letter-spacing: -0.11999999731779099px; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
Health and education can't be improved like a crash course, to build the right foundation and strengthen the entire system, our government needs to let go of instant gratification and multiplying votes. Do that by talking about cows and army, Indians will vote you back in power but also focus on fundamental things. Your only contribution in education seems like in changing history syllabus, just to remind you that education has other subjects as well. I am yet to hear you talk about education as vociferously as you talk about "other" issues close to your heart. When I say "YOU/YOUR", I mean you and your party. </div>
<div style="color: #1d2129; font-family: 'SF Optimized', system-ui, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, '.SFNSText-Regular', sans-serif; font-size: 14px; letter-spacing: -0.11999999731779099px; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
Also, lets stop blaming the past governments, they were not good and thats why country chose you and now that you are here for 7 more years, set your agenda right. People will remember and vote you back in 2024 as well but do something. Stop the untouchability that you have created among political parties, see the model of health reform of Delhi Government. <a class="profileLink" data-hovercard-prefer-more-content-show="1" data-hovercard="/ajax/hovercard/page.php?id=347939248636912&extragetparams=%7B%22fref%22%3A%22mentions%22%7D" href="https://www.facebook.com/AAPkaArvind/?fref=mentions" style="color: #365899; cursor: pointer; font-family: inherit; text-decoration: none;">Arvind Kejriwal</a> isn't that bad, he like you(loud), seems like a well intentioned man just that he has a minuscule online army compared to yours and he has been stupid to not have best friends like Adani and Ambani. Delhi is small in comparison to states like UP but I am sure there are ways to learn and implement good practices. All good practices doesn't necessarily need to come from Gujrat. <a class="profileLink" data-hovercard-prefer-more-content-show="1" data-hovercard="/ajax/hovercard/page.php?id=529977907043622&extragetparams=%7B%22fref%22%3A%22mentions%22%7D" href="https://www.facebook.com/AmitShah.Official/?fref=mentions" style="color: #365899; cursor: pointer; font-family: inherit; text-decoration: none;">Amit Shah</a> ji is enough for the country to be replicated across the states. </div>

I got to know your favourite colour, which is fair, you have all the right to choose your colour. I have never been your big fan just like Atal ji (for those who have forgotten him, he was first BJP Prime Minister of India) wasn't but now that you are here, I respect you for the constitutional post that you hold which was once held by Nehru and Atal. I agree to disagree with you on certain things and that's the beauty of India that we have these rights still intact, but I have hoped (still hope) that you are someone who will make system work more efficiently atleast for common Indians. I keep reading, you work so hard, don't sleep much, it will be great if tomorrow from Red Fort, you share a little about what exactly are you working on, sort of a daily and weekly plan. I will be glad to know and I am sure million others would like to know, it will help us understand the priorities better. You should share that with us, as you are our Pradhan Sevak!</div>

<div style="background-color: white; color: #1d2129; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19.32px; margin-bottom: 6px;">
<span style="line-height: 19.32px;">Sometimes I feel there is something rotten within me. This sense of helplessness. This sense of dissatisfaction, sense of losing everything. A deep misery that I am not worth it, a sense that I can't do anything. Deep sense of weakness and a feeling of being lost. I see a lot around me which I wish could be different. The world I imagine is so far from reality, the people I imagine are just imaginary.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #1d2129; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19.32px; margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
All I come across is misery, lack of courage, apathy,<span class="text_exposed_show" style="display: inline;"> selfishness, narrow minded, short sightedness. Everything around stands strong on the feet of corruption, from what I see, to what I eat to what I hear. People are dying and I contribute in their death because I am part of the system. Some will die tomorrow and some will later but we have ensured that tragedy persists. I don't see the courage of moral imagination, all I see around me is deep sense of self-centered approach and no space to something different. I feel like I live in the world of labels, I portray some on me and I put some on others.</span></div>
<div class="text_exposed_show" style="background-color: white; color: #1d2129; display: inline; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19.32px;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 6px;">
The only hope I see is among few individuals who are trying their bit, struggling among all odds to do something but that seems insignificant. The number of such people is too small, they are sometimes overpowered by popular narratives of the world.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
I die every night in my bed only to gather courage to do something about the rotten inside me, the next day. I both win and lose to die again. Only hope is that one day I will die as a hopeful!</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 6px; margin-top: 6px;">
(PS. These are reflections from last night.)</div>

<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
Democracy works best when both ruling government and opposition are strong. In current state of affairs in our country the opposition(National Party and not regional ones) is very weak and nearly trembling to death. No matter how strong the government is, opposition plays a constructive role in its functioning. </div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
It is time for Gandhi family to deeply introspect and see where they are failing the party and eventually the country. If Congress is not worthy of being a strong opposition or even remain a National Party, the family should take responsibility and step down. It's been long that their leaders have been saving Rahul Gandhi, he should step down or take responsibility and stir the party.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Time to step up or step down.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
From ruling over largely entire nation, Congress has shrinked to around 6% and there are literally no chances for them to do any magic in UP or Goa next year and very feeble chances of a magic in Punjab. The main state they are in power is Karnataka and few other small states like HP, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Manipur and in an alliance in Uttarakhand. It will be hard for them to retain other states apart from three in North-East.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
On the other hand BJP, has brilliantly moved from ruling 19% while Vajpayee was Prime Minister to 65% under Modi. The nation has accepted both its nationalist ideology and development plank. It has very well captured the vacuum created by lack of leadership in Congress. Seeing at the growth of BJP, it is very likely that they seal the results of 2019 much before it actually happens. The elections in many ways are a mind game and dwindle on popular perceptions, with the confidence that Congress has right now, it is very hard for them to even imagine winning 2019 unless BJP does a huge blunder.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
One important learning that is becoming important for parties is to strengthen local leadership. With emerging regional parties, it has become all the more important for both national parties to strengthen their local leadership. If we reflect on Delhi and Bihar, the two election where BJP lost post 2014 and Assam where it remarkably has won, one thing that stands out is that in both Delhi and Bihar it did not have a local face. Delhi and Bihar were run on Modi's face value while in Assam it had Sonowal. The voter is intelligent to make a choice when it comes to local and centre.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
After election in Karnataka in 2018, Congress might be forced to take a vacation and enjoy writing its obituary in the hills, the only ruled states by them. The only choice they have is to take charge and evolve or become history!</div>

<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">
<div style="font-size: 12.8px;">
There are some days that leave a mark on our lives and become a defining milestone. Four years back it was this day when the hard work of many people brought together a group of 17 youngsters as part of Lead The Change program. Youth Alliance was in its primitive stage, full of passion and commitment it set off its first program.<span style="font-size: 12.8px;">Today when I look back at first LTC, I feel it was that program that made Youth Alliance what it is today. </span></div>
<div style="font-size: 12.8px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-size: 12.8px;">
Some brilliant compassionate hearts joined the program, they nurtured it with their love and faith. Many of them stayed back for around two years to build the organisation. Manisha, Seema, Angna, Subhash, Ajay, Shashank became the pillars of the organisation for years to come. They started walking the journey with Vibhuti, Udit, Shivang, Akanksha, the pioneers who hosted the first LTC into the unknown, we could only see a step further sometimes even the step was blurry but faith kept us moving until many more joined the caravan.</div>
<div style="font-size: 12.8px;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-size: 12.8px; text-align: center;">

<div style="font-size: 12.8px;">
<span style="font-size: 12.8px;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-size: 12.8px;">
<span style="font-size: 12.8px;">I still remember sitting with my diary and scribbling the proposed structure of LTC, with literally zero experience in designing a leadership program. I reached out to Swapnil Bhaiya, one of the co-founders of Jagriti Yatra and I remember finalising 90% of LTC sitting with him. He used to make coffee for me and scold me like a younger brother. </span><span style="font-size: 12.8px;">The next stop was Vivek bhaiya from Gandhi Fellowship, who had his own unique style of loving by challenging the person. I still remember, "This will not work, you are making a program that will take them to Ivy League." He constantly challenged me to think deeper and was always around when I felt depressed.</span></div>
<div style="font-size: 12.8px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-size: 12.8px;">
It was Valentine's Day when I went to Anshu Bhaiya, to share the model and take his inputs. He patiently listened to all my super excited talks, after the long conversation around the program that we had at the dining table in Goonj, he went in and handed a cheque to me. I did not ask for funds in the entire discussion, not even mentioned the struggle of finances but he saw through me and said,"I know you don't have money and you will need it." He wrote in my diary, "Lage Raho!" I think the only justice I could do to him all these years, is not stop.</div>
<div style="font-size: 12.8px;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-size: 12.8px; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggOYSwe0qQPYWAhR_7_MxssqW9FJJG-h3hQmUFJCxpgqPMZBH7w-Q8QtXgS5tgpg4-Gd-ZbCjFgtOaLCgO0GIg5U7YZ2dCPD5K6KV4BxQmWNPaR_WiPbV_aDom4ZfwZoEO7EnZSlGxOVOY/s1600/419478_387503237927005_22723020_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="font-size: 12.8px; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggOYSwe0qQPYWAhR_7_MxssqW9FJJG-h3hQmUFJCxpgqPMZBH7w-Q8QtXgS5tgpg4-Gd-ZbCjFgtOaLCgO0GIg5U7YZ2dCPD5K6KV4BxQmWNPaR_WiPbV_aDom4ZfwZoEO7EnZSlGxOVOY/s320/419478_387503237927005_22723020_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="font-size: 12.8px;">
</div>
<div style="font-size: 12.8px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-size: 12.8px;">
There are so many other people who made this possible. It will be hard for me to write about everyone, all I can feel today is deep gratitude for all each one them. From Jayesh Bhai to Ravi Bhaiya who later became part of the journey, from TFI flatmate to school friend, from kids of my TFI class to slum right across my childhood school, from my family back in Kanpur to my partner for life, from my college to universities across the world, from the forces visible to forces invisible, from my country which has always made me feel proud to the world I have started knowing now, all I can say is a big <b>Thank You</b> for making this a reality :)</div>

After the first round of conversations in the village, mixed responses were received. We were a bit worried whether people would come for surgery or not yet in our heads we were determined to make the surgeries happen even if there were 5 people ready as we had planned for 20 surgeries. </span><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: "arial"; font-size: 12.666666666666666px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 700; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Surprisingly, People had different notions about an operation here in the village. We were ready to make the move to Kanpur city and many of the people who agreed yesterday had dropped out. There were several reasons and one of them that really worried me was apathy of younger generation towards old people within families. For a moment, we grappled on how to make sure that we have at least 5 people. We reached out to all who had given their confirmation earlier and heard their concern.It was humbling to see the challenges and importance of a day for them, as how difficult it was for many to take a couple of day's leave. </span></div>

In the next three hours all were back, pin-drop silence in the room, a couple of them were trembling. All I could do was hold their hand and be with them. It is hard for me to express that moment in words, as some feelings can only be felt in our hearts. They were made sleep then.</span></div>

By now, other Youth Alliance volunteers had also arrived. Tejal, our alumni from first GM was also there, making sure that she is there with them and taking care of their basic needs like to use toilet. By the evening the room was filled with laughter and lively spirits. I had to request our oldies to talk less. Happiness was evident and infectious. We also had three volunteers from Mexico, Honduras, and Panama. They were amazed to see a hospital room filled with so much love.</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">

The joy was of hopes being fulfilled. Now, all were excited to go back home and see their families. We reached back to villages post noon, explained about the future medication and care that was needed to be taken. I felt relaxed and at peace.</span></div>

Everytime I meet you in person, I feel blessed and inspired! People like you are rare species :)<br />
<br />
Yesterday(20 September) while we all were celebrating <a href="https://www.facebook.com/goonj.org?fref=ts">GOONJ</a>'s inspirational work and Ramon #Magsaysay award, I was constantly feeling goosebumps and my heart was filled with pride :)<br />
<br />
Both veterans and beginners had assembled to be part of Samosa, laddu and Chai party. While he invited veterans & close friends to come and share about Goonj, I felt overwhelmed when he asked me to come and share :)<br />
<div>
<br />
At the first instance I was short of words and full of emotions but then I shared two things that makes him class apart!<br />
<br />
It was February 14, 2012 and I was sitting with him in Goonj's office sharing the plan and idea of our upcoming Lead The Change program, we spoke for an hour or so, he gave some brilliant feedback. During the entire conversation we did not talk about funds, after the meeting I was about to leave, when he stopped me and handed over a cheque. Without even uttering a word I looked into his eyes and he replied,"Mujhe pata hai tumhare paas paise nhi hain, kaam ayenge.(I know you dont have money, it will be of use)" I had a big smile on my face and enough courage to never look back! It was the first funding cheque for <a href="https://www.facebook.com/changeagents?fref=ts">Youth Alliance</a> and he wrote "Lage Raho" on my diary. One of the best Valentine's Day gift I can imagine :)<br />
<br />
Second thing, that I shared is often missed in this data driven, quantifiable world, where numbers matter more than anything. Couple of week back I called him and asked him, "Bhaiya, how many talks have you given til now?" and we estimated around 500 talks/lectures. With an average of 50 people(I am sure it will be more than that), he has spoken to more than 5000 youngsters in past five years and with his powerful oratory, if he has ignited even 1 heart in every talk, he has inspired 50 more initiatives or individual to do something powerful. Apart from this, thousands of people have visited Goonj's processing center and left spellbound and inspired. I know around 5-6 youngsters personally who have initiated their enterprise because of him. This cannot be quantified and the seeds of inspiration that have gone deep because of Goonj, cannot be seen currently and we might witness the impact in decades and centuries to come.<br />
<br />
Goonj might be there or not but 100 years down the line, its inspiration would be doing things which are incomprehensible!<br />
<br />
Thank you Anshu bhaiya! You are my hero :)<br />

<div style="color: #222222;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I was about to enter the hall to facilitate a session named as "Pyar se Parivar" (Family of Love) with <a href="https://www.facebook.com/divas.vats" style="color: #1155cc;" target="_blank">Divas</a> but the sea of footwears (chappals) outside the hall intrigued me. I wasn't aware of exact number of people sitting in a large circle inside the Satyagraha Hall of Gandhi Darshan and thus began my counting. There were 129 pair of footwears. The family of love has grown, this was the largest number of people <a href="http://youthallianceofindia.org/" style="color: #1155cc;" target="_blank">Youth Alliance</a> family has ever hosted in one program, in one circle. I am talking of Change Festival, the two day residential program that has strengthened our belief in love, trust, surrender & compassion. </span></div>
<div style="color: #222222;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><a href="http://youthallianceofindia.org/change-festival/" style="color: #1155cc;" target="_blank">Change Festival</a><span style="color: #222222;"> with its motto to celebrate both people & ideas had a deep focus on transformative enterprise & we prepared with a guiding question, how will my work change me from inside? The two days were of complete surrender in trust. The team worked hard to make every little thing special, nearly all the things used in the program were handmade from namecards to </span><span style="color: #222222;">mementos</span><span style="color: #222222;"> to decoration material :) It was heartening to see the team put their heart and soul in every little things they were doing.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: #222222;"><br /></span></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYVote46VmuqPE1Lbe-_DRWTPxu_RrwvLl55KSaxGVRQ5xFBLp3oKTLPrIabToXwVRIK0aHTphPZnNAo3Bjj-qKyEw28m9azPyxcGvT4EfWd9Xq_HEy98KwOYMgqcHqw3FKbvUD90NzVPP/s1600/10847481_951198738224116_2016202230697052649_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYVote46VmuqPE1Lbe-_DRWTPxu_RrwvLl55KSaxGVRQ5xFBLp3oKTLPrIabToXwVRIK0aHTphPZnNAo3Bjj-qKyEw28m9azPyxcGvT4EfWd9Xq_HEy98KwOYMgqcHqw3FKbvUD90NzVPP/s1600/10847481_951198738224116_2016202230697052649_o.jpg" height="212" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: #222222;">Out of 110 participants, 26 shared their idea. The ideas varied on issues ranging from Education to Sports Comics to Employment for Visually Impaired etc. We had to work on 10 of them to learn the art of refining an idea keeping transformation at core. All of them collectively chose 10 of them and effortlessly all other joined the chosen ideas to form 10 teams. During our planning we were thinking this transition from 26 ideas to 10 teams(of around 10 member each) would be difficult but it so happened that everyone was happy in their teams. In the final closing circle on Day 2, the final presentations were made and everyone came forward to offer their gifts to these 10 ideas. We felt happy that everyone in the circle could see that finance is not the only form of capital support and there were multiple form of capitals that were offered to each team.</span></span></div>
<div style="color: #222222;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">It was a leap of faith for us both in terms of number of participants in the program and also that we were hosting this on <a href="http://www.servicespace.org/join/?pg=gift" style="color: #1155cc;" target="_blank">Gift Economy</a>. <a href="https://www.facebook.com/shashank.kalra.1" style="color: #1155cc;" target="_blank">Shashank</a> shared with us that <b style="color: black;">GIFT is nothing but Giving in Full Trust </b>and that set the tone for us. We promised ourselves to host a space for 120 people in full trust without any participation fees & they can pay it forward whatever they are moved to. At the night of Day 1 when participants were engrossed in refining their ideas, I was sitting with my team members and then we shared that it is not the outcome of 3-4 months of hardwork but it's years that have gone behind building this ecosystem. Two days were enriched with the gifts of <a href="https://www.facebook.com/ravi.gulati?fref=ts" style="color: #1155cc;" target="_blank">Ravi Bhaiya</a>, <a href="https://www.facebook.com/devengoa?fref=ts" style="color: #1155cc;" target="_blank">Deven Bhai</a>, <span style="color: magenta;"><a href="https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=739378481&fref=nf&pnref=story" target="_blank">Vivek Bhai</a>, <a href="https://www.facebook.com/anshu.gupta.9615?fref=ts" target="_blank">Anshu Bhaiya</a></span>, entire <a href="http://www.movedbylove.org/" target="_blank"><span style="color: magenta;">Moved By Love</span></a> community and several other mentors who were part of it to mentor the teams. For us it was such a wonderful feeling to see around 15 mentors who stayed with us for two days to support the participants in refining their ideas.</span></div>
<div style="color: black;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />A day before CF we were holding our review circle and Jagdish bhaiya who is the caretaker at Gandhi Darshan was around. We asked him to join us, he sat with us throughout our sharing, later he said,"Yahan itne log aate hain, per aap logon jaisa pyar nhi dekha maine." (Many people come here but I have not seen such love in people.) He had set the right tone for us. <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pages/Gandhi-Smriti-Darshan-Samiti/335800346442796?fref=ts" style="color: #1155cc;" target="_blank">GSDS</a> is an amazing place and one of the few places where things were ready before time :)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTGP_Z5Tt_7UaADWKip5iMmoKf7g1IPKAXXBTK27d2eV3fjhi23i7tqMfEGdaG9x-bb5h2ZCBl77OydXBYlowqtkHAu0mI8JFuHuqqpgQvR2zOhjBRa-5acLix4oPzadhDaG-9byX0Z749/s1600/1537919_950206778323312_5587066579064555655_o.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTGP_Z5Tt_7UaADWKip5iMmoKf7g1IPKAXXBTK27d2eV3fjhi23i7tqMfEGdaG9x-bb5h2ZCBl77OydXBYlowqtkHAu0mI8JFuHuqqpgQvR2zOhjBRa-5acLix4oPzadhDaG-9byX0Z749/s1600/1537919_950206778323312_5587066579064555655_o.jpg" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="color: black;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">All in all, it was a humbling experience where everyone came together in a circle to make it a reality. It was a wonderful confluence of multiple form of capital, participants from across the country enriched it with the diversity, GSDS offered us the space, <a href="https://www.facebook.com/youth.time.international.movement?fref=ts" style="color: #1155cc;" target="_blank">Youth Time Movement</a> supported us financially, mentors shared their experience, team offered their labor of love, the rain made the two days pleasant. </span></div>
<div style="color: black;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />It was in true form a community build with love, trust and collaboration. Now, all we need to do is make it stronger one person at a time, one heart at a time :)</span></div>

<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
Today, I went to bank to withdraw some money for <a href="http://youthallianceofindia.org/change-festival/" style="color: #1155cc;" target="_blank">Change Festival</a>, only to know that banks are closed on every 1st April and then closed on 2nd for Mahavir Jayanti, 3rd for Good Friday. All in all bank will be closed for next three days and 3rd, 4th April is our much awaited Change Festival. Thinking of people from whom I would borrow some money for the event, I prepared a list in my head.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
I entered the office & shared this with our team (mostly comprising of college students) that has been working relentlessly for the upcoming festival. I shared the bank scenario and said that we need to crowd source a significant amount for next three days. In next one minute what happened moved me completely and strengthened my belief in power of collaborative community. The team offered to pool in a huge amount for next three days, good enough to meet urgent requirements. It was a powerful moment for everyone, each one of us was happy seeing the ownership in the team. This is true interdependence :)</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
This is one such incident in the series of such things that have been happening at Youth Alliance office. Each one has been trying to make it as special as possible. Often with the race of time we prefer things that are ready-made but this team has been working day and night to make every little thing from the quotes, to gifts, to backdrop everything has been made with love, trust and compassion. It has been a truly collective effort, where each one has risen to the occasion and given her or his best. </div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">

<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
There have been times over last couple of weeks when I have stopped one of them and said, "Isn't this too much of work for you? Can you do this alone? Start only if you can complete it?" and the reply has been,"Bhaiya, it will done! Don't worry. I will do it at home."</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
I feel proud to be part of an organization rather team that is so special. This is a true community, where everyone brings their gifts together, share them with each other and surrenders in trust :) The artist takes care of art and gives space to others for expressing; the critical thinker asks the right questions and surrenders in trust; the (main)host makes sure that everyone has space to do what they want to do; the believer takes care that everyone understands the true meaning of gift economy/ multiple form of capital and maintains the ethos; the writer makes sure that every word is written with love; the invisible is busy arranging the logistics and running across the city to make sure that everyone's stay is blessed, the list goes on...<br />

<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
This is like a dream come true for all of us. Now, it is just a day away :) Youth Alliance is going to host its largest gathering ever. We all can feel butterflies in our stomach, I trust the festival will be blissful but I am sure that the process has brought us closer to each other and this is what we all aspire :)</div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Last year when general elections were about to happen and Modi wave was clearly riding over the country, the big worry for me was who will stop the communal people from RSS, VHP, BJP etc. once Modi becomes PM. I was sure that it would be beyond his control to stop the people who would use his name to spread communalism in the country. The best was that he did not speak once during his entire campaign last year about communalism but promised development(I have some questions on his development model as well) and promoted that agenda. He had a very positive narrative to share with the country and he tried to move away from his 2002 riot image.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Today after around 9 months of Modi government, the entire country has seen surge in communal forces trying to run campaigns like "Gharwapsi", love jihad, vandalizing churches in Delhi. We have seen Praveen Togadia spreading hatred, BJP MP's supporting such things and adding fuel. The worst is that our PM Modi did not come out to speak(read tweet) once about anything. He has been tweeting for everything, he tweeted for Charlie Hebdo the very same evening but we are yet to hear from him about one statement against such thing.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Next disastrous thing for me is accepting a person like Amit Shah and media channels heaping praise on him. SIT might have given him clean chit but we have a history of how CBI and SIT have been misused in this country. Same Amit Shah was stopped by court to enter Gujrat for two years when Modi was CM. It was Shah who was the incharge of UP elections in 2014 and his chosen MPs have been fueling hatred in the country. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Modi observes all this and never utters a word, in a way he silently agrees and promotes what is happening. We as a country have to decide what we want, if we want development then on the cost of what? I would not like my generations to live in posh concrete colonies with hatred for each other.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">It is important to stop the hegemony of Modi brand politics and teach a lesson to people like Amit Shah who breed in the idea of communalism. Arvind Kejriwal and his party AAP has been able to challenge him and we have seen how challenged Modi and his team have felt over last few weeks. They have resorted to all sorts of means to stop the Aam Admi but this time it seems it will be impossible for them.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #141823; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 19.3199996948242px;"><br /></span>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #141823; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 19.3199996948242px;">These are defining moment in a democracy, these moments make history, these moments strengthen </span><span class="text_exposed_show" style="background-color: white; color: #141823; display: inline; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 19.3199996948242px;">our belief in the rights of people.</span><br />

One Hope. #5SaalKejriwal<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
The best way to understand the mood of public is to be with them, observe and talk to them. Election being the most buzzing topic around, I have been talking to people about it and responses this time are more consistent. I would like to share few stories that truly moved me and gave me hope.</div>
<div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: small;">
I got a call today from the village which hosts Youth Alliance for Gramya Manthan. It is a village 80 km away from Kanpur with no electricity polls. It was 8:30am and 25 year old Pankaj from other side says,"Bhaiya do something to mobilize people for Arvind Kejriwal, if you want I can come to Delhi for campaigning. This time we need to make sure that he should win. You work with so many youngsters take everyone for campaigning." I was speechless about his excitement and the way he is hoping that something will change.<br />
<br />
Second story is of a rickshaw puller. It was 10pm at night and I was standing near Jangpura crossing and talking to various rickshaw pullers with my vicks candy, that I usually keep with me in winters and offer to people I meet on road. I asked one of them, "Bhaiya kisko vote doge?" (Brother, whom will you vote?) He replied,"I am from West Bengal and vote Congress but if Kejriwal would go to Bengal I will surely vote him." I smiled and went ahead.<br />
<br />
Third story is that of an auto-rickshaw driver. He has been driving auto rickshaw for many years. We started talking about socio-political situation of Delhi and then I asked which party are you going to vote and why. He replied, "Bhaiya, is baar to jhaadu chalegi. Meri auto mein jo log baithte hain unme 10 mein se 7 log jhaadu ko vote de rhe hain." ( Brother, this time broom(Aam Admi Party), 7 out of 10 people who sit in my auto are going to vote them.) He then narrates how he was free from police troubles during those 49 days. Auto rickshaw drivers have been rallying behind AAP since its inception and they are quite vocal about their support.<br />
<br />
These are just three stories from bouquet of stories I have come across over last one month. I see a lot of hope in people specially those who come from economically weaker section. I am looking forward to see the change and witness it, just hoping that this time an honest politician remains honest with time.<br />
<br />
Like happiness is contagious, so is hope!</div>

<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
"Indians are individually smart but collectively dumb"<br />
<br />
Whenever I travel in a train my biggest worry is about the toilets. The condition of our toilets is so pathetic that it is sometimes impossible to even be there for 2 minutes. We often put the blame of dirt on the poor (read economically weak) section of our society. But as per my information in a reserved class coach of a train it is nearly impossible for a person BPL family person whose daily expenditure is around 32 Rs/day (Planning Commission of India, which is soon going to be dissolved by the new government) to travel. So, for me it is proven that it is not the poor but people who can afford are the major reason for the filth.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
Now, if I really reflect, I do not find much shout or concern about this filth across the country. None of our political parties have this in their manifestos. None of the drawing room conversation are around this issue. We talk about filth only for a while when we encounter it directly and then add our part, make it more dirty and forget. We make sure that our homes are clean and throw the garbage right across the road. We are such lazy bunch of people that we cannot go to the nearby municipality garbage bin and throw it there.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
Recently I was reading a book "Games Indian Play:" by Prof. Raghunathan, he interestingly describes our behaviour. He writes that we as Indians are individually smart but collectively dumb. We make sure that our house is clean but also make sure that our society is dirty. We just wait for a spot in our lane to get a little bit dirty and then within a week we make sure that the spot turns into a heap of garbage. We have become so lazy, that sometimes we wait for the entire day and throw our garbage late at night and that too in front of our neighbors house.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_BFN65wIc-a7Fs9ofloXS9VohS1zLcLGm6rOXS8pbQSyZ1nVbNHJnxqzhS7gq3hDhKHPHkqL4CzovOdg3IZvAuddxdPhmdIjoXHXtM5rlyas2SFKcV-ktvy108RRKAXqoPMlrKZ42PJOs/s1600/dirtystreet.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_BFN65wIc-a7Fs9ofloXS9VohS1zLcLGm6rOXS8pbQSyZ1nVbNHJnxqzhS7gq3hDhKHPHkqL4CzovOdg3IZvAuddxdPhmdIjoXHXtM5rlyas2SFKcV-ktvy108RRKAXqoPMlrKZ42PJOs/s1600/dirtystreet.jpg" height="206" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">A Common Scene in our neighborhoods (via Google Images)</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
For us as a country cleanliness is no where a priority and the worst part is that we have stopped expecting public places to be clean. Our benchmarks of cleanliness are so low that when someone from North Indian railway station travels to South India railway station he feels so excited about the relatively cleaner tracks and toilets. When someone from India travels abroad(not just USA or Europe but East Asia or Gulf Countries), she(/he) just imagines of a day when her(/his) country will have such cleanliness. For me personally it has become a huge challenge to think of a way to bridge this cleanliness gap.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
Recently I was in Singapore and happy to see the cleanliness level of the country. Someone has shared with me the country comprises of around 20% Indian mainly Tamils, I also got to know there is aplace called mini-India. I got excited by the name and made sure that I have time during my stay to visit there. As I got out of the metro station at Mini-India and moved 50 meters away I was shocked to see the place, it was like a vegetable market in my hometown of Kanpur. Such a dirty and unorganised place, I felt as if Singapore law doesnt imply there. Nearly 99% of people were Indians, it was the dirtiest place I have seen in Singapore, no one was following traffic signals. It truly was a mini- India !</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
During my stay in Singapore, I met a well known NRI woman and social activist. During our conversation she asked me about what can be done about cleanliness back in India and then shared something that shook me to the core. She shared that when Malaysia <i>discarded</i> Singapore, as it was a really dirty and filthy part, the first PM of Singapore in his maiden speech appealed people to clean-up. Cleanliness became the highest priority of the nation and today it is one of the cleanest nation in world.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
It is time for us to make that resolve and stick to it until we achieve it. If we can't be a clean nation, I think it would be impossible for us to become a better & healthy nation. Cleanliness is a habit and it defines who we are.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
It is time to refer Mahatma Gandhi again, who was the only leader of our country whose agenda had cleanliness as a top priority.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
"Cleanliness is godliness"- Gandhi</div>

the other hand I feel sad about the apathy that we have for our country. We as
citizens don’t respect the freedom that we have got, the opportunity that this
country has given us. I see India as one of the few countries where we preach
about patriotism but don’t even act minutely according to it. I feel the
country has given a lot to us but we for generations post independence have
just taken from the country and not contributed back. We don’t understand our
moral responsibility as the citizen. Citizenship is not a one way process and
is not always transactional, it is a two way process. A nation will be in the
best state when the citizens feel the interdependence with the nation.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

care about the condition of that place. Firstly we make sure that it is in the
worst possible state and if not so then we don’t care to ask for a complaint

with the institutions that are made for public interest, often the reason for
not engaging is that what will happen by just one person protesting or complaining.
I have often heard from my friends and family members,”What will happen by just
you raising your voice. Nothing is going to change like this.” But I feel it
makes a difference and the person thinks twice before doing the same thing next
time. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

Why don’t we confront people when something wrong is being done in front of our

and give our 100% effort ? Why are we OK with “Chalta-Hai” attitude? <o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="color: #222222; font-family: arial;">No matter what the results are for today, AAP has already made a huge contribution to the politics around us. It has forced a national party to change its CM candidate (Harsh Vardhan), it has changed the writings on the hoardings of all parties, it has redefined mobilizing methods during election and most importantly it has given us hope, that, yes change is possible.</span><br />
<div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial;">
During my numerous conversations with Auto Drivers, ATM Guards, I have sensed the belief that they have in AAP. The vote bank which was mostly swayed away with dirty caste, money and liquor politics has come together.</div>
<div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial;">
Today for me the most important thing is the vote share of AAP. I dont care if they win 10 seats or 36, what is important is how many people went out to support them. The vote share will give an insight to whether we are ready for change or not. If a significant number of people support them, then it will be clear that people are fed up of corrupt political practices and they are ready to embrace change and support someone who is honest. A large percentage of vote share will encourage not only AAP but many other people to come in politics who feel that it is not a place for honest people. It will also push other political parties to bring in honest blood and use new ways of reaching out to people.</div>
<div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial;">
I just want to remind one thing to all my friends that Arvind Kejriwal is not God. He also has his own limitations and has done (will do) his share of mistakes but his intent seems genuine and there is no doubt about his honesty and integrity. AAP's decision to stop taking funds after they reached 20 Crore limit was just amazing. No other political party has ever done this before. I have seen very few individuals who refuse to earn beyond a point.</div>
<div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial;">
I don't see them making government although I am ready to see this miracle happen. It might be a hung assembly where no one wants to support each other. If by any chance AAP makes a move to seek or get support from BJP or Congress then that would be their last mistake.</div>
<div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial;">
Hope for the best lets see how it unfolds. These results are going to be the landmark for years to come and will redefine how the upcoming General Election would be contested. </div>
<div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #222222; font-family: arial;">
All the best to the polity of India :) </div>

<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
Dear Friends,</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
Hope you are doing good. Today I am not writing this as a representative from Youth Alliance but as an active citizen of India. We all have chosen the path which will surely bring social change in our country, it might happen in our lifetime, if not then I am sure that we will lay the foundation for coming generations.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
I am writing here to talk about the basic right that we all have as citizens of India - Right to Vote. I believe that it is important for each one of us to exercise the right that has been given to us as a citizen. We are the ones who are trying to bring in some change and hence it becomes more important for us to have faith in the existing system and use the existing tools to innovate it for good. I think it is first time in our lifetime that we have seen such an upsurge in youth voices and so many youngsters coming out to demand their rights. This will become more meaningful if we go out tomorrow and exercise our right to VOTE.</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
I am writing this before Delhi election because Delhi has witnessed some change in the way politics has been done in our country ever before. I request you to sense the change that might be round the corner. First time in near history any election is being fought on development agenda and anti-corruption. Its not just about <span style="background-color: white;">any party </span>winning elections, it is more about how many people support or are ready for change. </div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
Having said this I request you all to go out and vote tomorrow. Mobilize your neighbors, friends and of course family and appeal them to vote. </div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="color: #222222; font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
Please forward this to your friends and motivate them to go out and vote tomorrow.</div>

<br />
<div style="font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
<div style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: medium;">
The session started with a meditation exercise. The idea was to control the mind because mind is a wanderer and when we are seeking answers about SELF, we need to have a calm mind.</div>
<div style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: medium;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: medium;">
First two question asked by Chitranjan ji our facilitator for the session were :</div>
<div style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: medium;">
</div>
<ul>
<li>Why you are here today ?</li>
<li>How will you change post session ?</li>
</ul>
<div>
All the participants gave different answers of the two questions and then the discussion went on. The big question that we pondered upon was, "How do we understand the conflict between inner and outer self ?"</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Then we had an exercise where he proposed that for one hour let us assume that the relationship between inner and outer world is helpful in reaching our destination. And now share our views in the group with a situation that holds true for above.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We also discussed the distinction about FEAR and PHOBIA. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Mostly during the entire session we were talking about conflict between any two ( it can inner and outer self or between two different individuals) and it happens mostly at four different levels. They were :</div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>You and I are adversary and the powerful person wins <b>(No Point of Dialogue or understanding)</b></li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Presence of adversary motives other to empower himself and then fight<b> (One Wins, other Loses)</b></li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Whenever two people are at conflict, one will try to understand why we are at conflict and look for others weakness and strike at them to win</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Whenever there is a conflict both sides try to understand the complete picture, dialogue and come to a conclusion <b>(Win- Win)</b></li>
</ul>
<div>
For me the two were more importantly my inner and outer self. The constant struggle to be one has taught me many things about myself, has helped me in improving myself. Still there is a long way to go and huge scope of improvement but being aware of the facts and moments when this conflict happens gives me peace and opportunity to learn. </div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
(Just to add here, I know an amazing book " Seven Habits by Stephen Covey" that talks about this in one of the habits, "Think Win-Win". I would request you all to read that book. It has been a blessing for me, I still keep a copy of it with me and have recommend it to many. Please dont read it as a book but what worked for me was that I read one habit 2-3 times and then tried to imbibe it in me and then move to next. )</div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Apart from this couple of things that stood apart for me were:</div>
<div>
<ul>
<li>What I am today = What I was yesterday + What I learned today (what I learnt today majorly comes for reflection</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>We also had a conversation around authenticity. Children should be given opportunity to express authentically because it is extremely hard as a kid to keep extreme emotions inside. </li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>It is important to be aware of what we are saying, doing , thinking. <b>Whenever we lose awareness we lose opportunity to learn.</b></li>
</ul>
<div>
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="font-family: arial; font-size: small;">
<b>Note: </b>This happened during a learning event for the <a href="http://www.pravah.org/content/CL" target="_blank">Changeloom Program of Pravah</a> at Kolkata. </div>
<div style="font-family: arial; font-size: small;">

“Practice what you preach”, was taught to me when I was a kid but then I did not<br />
understand the importance and meaning of this phrase. It was really hard for me to<br />
find someone who followed it. It was when I became a teacher as a Teach For India<br />
Fellow that I understood the importance of this phrase. Being a teacher you have to<br />
follow what you say. If I ask my kids to reach school at 7am then I have to be there at<br />
6:45am. These small things became the basis of small change that started in me.<br />
<br />
When I became a TFI Fellow and started working with 52 third grader kids, all my<br />
philosophy and principles were at stake. I believe being a teacher is one of the most<br />
difficult jobs one can have. My kids kept a check on my patience, my commitment,<br />
integrity and all this way it was really difficult to deliver but a constant self-vigil<br />
and reflection helped me a lot. My class acted as an experimental lab for me, I was<br />
growing each day as a person, as a human being.<br />
<br />
I used to read a passage from a book “Gandhi-The Man” by “Eknath Easwaran”<br />
everyday to my kids. It was this time of the day which was most awaited in my class.<br />
I strongly believe that his philosophy is very relevant even today. My kids learned a<br />
lot from him, I witnessed how they used to relate incidents from their life with that of<br />
Gandhi ji’s. Two years in the classroom gave me the strength to move forward and<br />
do something for the society, something beyond the self.<br />
<br />
When I see at India’s myriad challenges I see only one way to find a solution to all<br />
these problems and this is by empowering youth of our country. Keeping this in mind<br />
we started Youth Alliance with a vision to connect each youth with a cause. It aims to<br />
build a movement of young leaders equipped to meet India’s problems by designing<br />
processes to identify young individuals with a spark to think innovatively for the<br />
larger social good. We do this by conducting programs where they get experiential<br />
exposure in both urban and rural space to identify their passion.<br />
<br />
The journey with Youth Alliance has been equally challenging but the strong<br />
conviction that change is possible drives me to work hard. Change of heart is the<br />
core philosophy of our work and this is possible only when you lose yourself in the<br />
service of others. In last one year we have helped in nurturing 8 new enterprises,<br />
connected 12 individuals to full time development space and all this gives us hope.<br />
<br />
Over the years, Gandhi ji’s message of, “Be the Change” has got deep rooted in my<br />
heart. He was a big supporter of youth power. He used to say that youth should be<br />
self-reliant and self-supporting. He talked about an education system where head,<br />
heart and hand are developed simultaneously but over the years our education system<br />
has failed to do so.<br />
<br />
Today if I reflect on the work that I am doing at Youth Alliance I feel it is nearly<br />
the same as Gandhi ji wanted. We are trying to nurture youth to be self-reliant,<br />
entrepreneurial, social role models and connect them with rural India, the villages<br />
where Gandhi ji’s heart was.<br />
<br />
I don’t know how far will I go, how many young people will Youth Alliance reach<br />
but I am sure where ever we go, how big we become the most important reason of our<br />
being is Gandhi ji and his philosophy of life.<br />
<br />
<b>Note:</b> I wrote this article for the annual journal, "Satya". <span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Cambria, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 18px;">The journal carries articles on a wide variety of subjects –</span><i style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Cambria, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 18px;"><b> society, politics, economics</b></i><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Cambria, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 18px;"> – anything that is centred on Gandhian thought and practice. </span>Prakhar Bhartiyahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05251673032196192545noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6280820757369647600.post-76576691315435269822013-02-20T01:13:00.002+05:302013-02-20T01:15:41.047+05:30Tests of Life...Continuous & Comprehensive Evaluation !<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Some exams are written, some oral but then there are few exams which are known as "Continuous & Comprehensive Evaluation". For many working in education field CCE has a particular meaning and many have been lobbying for it since decades. And now when comes under RTE, it has to be implemented in schools.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Here I am not talking about CCE in classroom but I am talking about CCE in our daily life. The tests of life are so hard and difficult to crack. They always come as a surprise and like the open book exam that happen in colleges, they always come with an OPEN BOOK ! You know the answers but it is hard to accept/follow them.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Self evaluation is such a difficult exercise. But if you pass this test, then for me all other tests are a waste. Life always brings you to a crossroad where all the roads seem to be correct and then you have to decide the best one. I also face this dilemma every now and then and sometimes it becomes a very hard choice. </span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 18px;">Life is not easy and it is harder is you have a non-negotiable value system !</span><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"> You often end up with hurting/ annoying a few but then you can't please everyone and you are not here to do that. People understand, it takes time but they do. One thing that I have understood lately is that you can't compromise with your principles. You need to stick to them. There should be few non-negotiable things in life, like for me integrity, trust and taking responsibility are a few. I have been trying to be non-judgmental also but sometimes I fail to do so and knowing that I have failed to do so helps me in improving on it everyday.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Gandhi ji is the best person I can think of when it comes to a person with non-negotiable value system. He has been a constant source of inspiration for me and every time I fail in life's CCE I think of him and visualize him in my situation and then come up with the right answer. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">To end with I would say, all answers to complex questions of life are within us. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; line-height: 16px;">Bura Jo Dekhan Main Chala, Bura Naa Milya Koi.</span><br />

<b><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-size: x-small; line-height: 16px;"><br /></span></span></b>

(Sabka Mangal Ho: May All be Happy !)<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
Dear YA Team,<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Since yesterday, I was listening to a song, which says, "<span style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 16px;">Tera Mangal, mera mangal, sabka mangal ho ( May you, me and everyone around be happy and blessed with goodness) (from Vipassana)</span>" and for me this was the perfect way to start the new year. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">The year ending has been a sad one, so many have died across the globe, the world has seen so much of destruction both natural and man made. </span><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="color: #333333; font-family: lucida grande, tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">Back in India the last year has seen so many protests, corruption on its peak, spineless politicians and the brutal gang-rape. More than happiness it has highlighted sadness. I would not say that the year was a happy one for the nation. But I see a positive hope because I saw thousands of youngsters coming out with a desire for change.</span></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333; font-family: lucida grande, tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333; font-family: lucida grande, tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">But for me the question is what are we going to do this year to make this a happy year for all. How are we going to channelize this anger and sadness ? Will it fizzle out with time or we will use it in positive direction ? I think this year needs more actions than words. Everyone says that action speaks louder than words but this year lets promise each other to practice it. Here our role becomes important because we need to channelize this energy of youngsters in positive direction and translate it into action.</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333; font-family: lucida grande, tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333; font-family: lucida grande, tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">I think we are born in this era and have got this opportunity to be the change because we are destined to do so. Remember, not everyone gets this chance and honestly speaking its not everyone's cup of tea. You have taken the step and now </span></span><span style="color: #333333; font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">all you need to assure is to keep taking small steps, one at a time.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333; font-family: lucida grande, tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333; font-family: lucida grande, tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">At the end I would say I am happy with what I am trying to do but my hunger to do more is increasing day by day. I am happy in doing this because my work has given me an opportunity to meet you all. </span></span><span style="color: #333333; font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"> </span><span style="color: #333333; font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">I feel fortunate to know each one of you with such amazing potential. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333; font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #333333; font-family: lucida grande, tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">May the coming year and life ahead bring happiness in everyone's life, everyone be happy. Wishing you, your family and everyone around a very happy and prosperous new year !</span></span></div>
